2015 ITU Duathlon World Championships
What a lovely trip to remember Adelaide was last weekend, racing in the beautiful heart of the city, along the riverside, in the women’s elite duathlon championships which consisted of a 10km run, 40km bike and 5km run It was legal to draft on the bike, the course was technical and fast. The first 10km run was quick and there was a bunch of seven of us girls in there, clocking 35.23 for my first 10km run, I was just off the top four girls into transition and onto the bike. Had a strong ride and held a good position.
I loved every minute of the race and the smiles it brought to my face to be out there and also have my mum on the sidelines cheering and watching was priceless. To be out there racing against worlds best, learning, challenging myself and enjoying the experience meant more to me then anything.
I was so happy to finish up sixth in the field at the ITU elite world duathlon championships and the second Australian. I would like to say thank you to the sponsors that supported me in this trip, Liv Cycling Australia for the women's "Advanced Pro 1," my amazing road bike and to Bond University where i am undertaking my Bachelor of Journalism, in the elite sports program for funding my trip. Furthermore a big thank you to my constant support networks, My coach, mother and partner. Next up is Noosa triathlon and then Forster 70.3 EndFragment
