Tomewin Mountain Challenge for me this year was an important event to attend and race in. It was two years ago they held this first event in such a beautiful part of the world. It's challenging mentally and physically, over the half marathon distance of 21.1 km plus I went into the event after being unwell all week. It was so was nice to come out with a strong win in the female overall division & overall first person across the line. The event supports a great charity and all the money raised goes towards the charity which I think is great. This race is a true test of your stength, & everyone out there did amazingly well and challenged themselves to do something pretty incredible. :) There is nothing like running in the country. Having grown up in Northern NSW, Currumbin Valley is the closest thing I have found to home on the Gold Coast. I always feel in touch with myself and the country whilst training and or racing out here. It's a great event and I encourage anyone whom wants to challenge themselves to give this event a go next year. Just make sure you train on some hills before hand :)
